Mark Johnston

Beginning his working life with a degree in Physical Education, Mark focused more on the science of human movement before moving into the fitness and rehabilitation industry, soon after leaving Teachers College. A thirst for more knowledge, meant that he traveled to the USA and completed a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine at Springfield College, Massachusetts.
Upon returning to Australia, Mark worked in various roles in semi-government and the private sector, developing and implementing programs in health management and injury rehabilitation. A desire to have a more direct impact on people’s physical health, led to a return to full-time study, completing a degree in Physiotherapy (1996). Since then, Mark has combined education, sports medicine and physiotherapy to offer a humanistic and holistic approach to health and wellness.
Mark currently shares his time between a hands-on role in the Smart Health clinic and a range of industrial training programs, which focus on self-management, prevention and rehabilitation of workplace injuries. Mark also provides education seminars to a variety of health professionals and students.

Greg Campbell graduated from the University of South Australia in 1996, with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy). His initial work experience was based in the public health system where he gained invaluable experience in orthopaedic/ musculoskeletal inpatients and outpatients, spinal injury, and areas of neurology and neurosurgery. On a daily basis, Greg integrates the different philosophies related to these various rehabilitation areas.
Greg’s assessment approach centres around his strengths in soft tissue injury and treatment, neurological rehabilitation, understanding of the pathology, physiology, faulty biomechanics and ergonomics relating to the client's problem. Greg's treatment approach incorporates education, exercise and advice with manual and dry needling techniques.
Greg also has a strong belief in coordinated care and utilises and refers to a large network of like-minded practitioners and doctors.

Jenni has combined her formative years as a Classical Ballet Student/Amatuer performer with her academic years of pre and post graduate Physiotherapy study resulting in a passionate focus on Dance Injury / Education and Prevention. As a long standing member of The International Association of Dance Medicine and Science, Jenni remains up to date with the current research in Dance Medicine, treatment and preventative methodology. She holds strong beliefs in working with the junior dancers through their developmental years to achieve maximum potential, as well as following through with the tertiary students and professional performers in maintenance programs, specific rehabilitation and injury prevention protocols.
As a Senior Pilates Practitioner, Jenni continues her own Continuing Education with the recognized Pilates Education Bodies as well as actively focusing on current research in the practice of core stabilization. She understands the necessity of the use of Real Time Ultrasound and Dynamic Stabilization in achieving functional core control.
Jenni is a Senior Educator and Examiner for Polestar Pilates Education, teaching both the Certificate IV and Diploma Levels of Pilates Qualification and The Women’s Health Module. This teaching takes Jenni around Australia and New Zealand.

Nick Ireland graduated from the University of South Australia in 1996 and has been working in private practice since 1997. He has developed a strong focus with hands-on treatment and exercise therapy. Further studies in trigger point therapy, dry needling and myofascial release have allowed Nick access to a broader range of direct treatment. His base in exercise therapy began as a fitness leader during the mid 1990s and since that time, he has continued to develop his skills in rehabilitative exercise.
Nick was a founder of Smart Ball Pty Ltd, a company which designed and conducted education workshops for fellow health professionals throughout Australia. This teaching background has followed through into the Occupational Health field, where he now conducts manual handling and workplace safety training programs for companies nationwide.
Sonya Phillips

With a strong interest in sport and in addition to her private clinic work, Sonya has worked extensively with cricket and Australian rules football and over the years has had various sporting media commitments.
Aside from the Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Sonya has attained her Level 1 Sports Physiotherapy qualification, Levels 1&2 Clinical Pilates (Dance Medicine Australia), together with the Sports Trainer (Sports Medicine Australia - SMA) and Neuromuscular Dry Needling qualifications.
Sonya predominantly uses manual therapy/hands-on skills and education, as her preferred treatment techniques.

Jane has a strong personal interest in using Pilates for sports and injury rehabilitation. She has worked with netball, football, rowing and baseball teams and also individual athletes, focusing on injury prevention, management and rehabilitation. Jane is currently the physiotherapist for the Newton Jaguars, the state league netball premiers.
Jane’s experience also extends to the aged care sector, working with people to encourage an active lifestyle, maintain function and enhance independence, as well as cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
Anh Vo

Anh has worked in private practice since completing his Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy, 1997 and went on to complete a Master of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia, 2000, specialising in sports injury assessment, management and rehabilitation. Anh is also highly experienced with musculoskeletal, accident and workplace injuries. His other interest lies with biomechanical video analysis, acupuncture/dry needling and exercise therapy.
Anh has worked with several high level sporting associations, most notably as Head Physiotherapist for Cheerio State League Netball Team and Uncle Toby’s Women’s and Men’s Satellite Tennis Tournaments in South Australia, for Tennis Australia.

Thanh's interest in physiotherapy involves general and sports injuries, strength and conditioning programs and nutritional advice. He also has experience in teaching hydrotherapy and Pilates. His focus is on quality hands on treatment with use of basic acupuncture and dry needling techniques.
Thanh has also worked as the Physiotherapist for the Adelaide Black Falcons.

Sarah O’Neill graduated with a Bachelor of Health Sciences at Adelaide University in 2004. Always having a keen interest in the pathological basis of health and wanting to combine this interest with the rehabilitation of others, Sarah was accepted into a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle Western Australia. After completing her degree, Sarah worked in the Acute Stroke Unit at the Royal Perth Hospital where she had the opportunity to work with highly specialised and experienced clinicians in the multi disciplinary area of Neurology.
Sarah has since moved back to Adelaide and has utilised the team skills and knowledge she gained in the Public Health sector to work in the musculoskeletal field. She has a strong belief in the importance of education about the cause of a problem and relishes working as part of a multidisciplinary group. Sarah is currently completing her studies to be a certified Polestar Pilates Practitioner and thoroughly enjoys the ability to execute her assessment and treatment and follow the rehabilitation of the client through with education of movement.
Cathy Ireland

Since graduating from University of South Australia in 1996 with a degree in Physiotherapy, Cathy has worked concurrently in private practice and as an orthopaedic inpatient physio at Flinders Private Hospital. The combination of these two areas of physio work has helped Cathy to develop specialised understanding of post-surgical rehabilitation and progression from severe acute trauma, to return to normal function. Muscle release and trigger point study early in her career followed by dry needling and acupuncture training has formed the basis for her clinical treatment approach as has her understanding of the spectrum of rehabilitative exercise. A mother of two, Cathy has first hand experience of the stresses on a spine during pregnancy and parenthood and has worked with a wide range of clients from elite athletes to the very elderly and those with chronic pain.
