Video Movement Analysis

OHS

Whether in the sporting arena or in everyday activities, faulty or inefficient movement patterns, can lead to overuse injuries, or can be a significant factor in delaying effective healing from injury.

Using the latest biomechanical analysis technology from Dartfish, we are able to analyse movement patterns and identify which joints are moving, and at what stage of the movement. The Dartfish Professional software package is the same as used in the broadcasts of major sporting events such as the cricket and tennis and offers the most up to date digital video technology. When combined with the biomechanical experience of Smart Health physiotherapists, this feedback mechanism provides the most powerful learning tool available.

This process is used by elite athletes around the world to fine tune their skill level to both improve performance and reduce the potential of injury. Having the opportunity to observe yourself performing activities that increase or cause pain, in conjunction with expert advice as to what aspects of that movement are at fault, is a very powerful learning experience and fast-tracks the rehabilitation process.

The Smart Health Video Analysis Lab is equipped to simulate most daily and working tasks, as well as many sporting and exercise movement patterns.
