This is an interesting read for everyone with kids. This is the 2015 Progress Report Card from Active Healthy Kids Australia. This year the focus has been on one physical activity indicator; Active Transport for Children and Young People. The results were not great, Australia got a C in the Report Card with only half of our children and young people using active transport at least once per week to travel to/from school. As a society we do need to make an effort to look for opportunities for our kids to be more active. So many of our daily tasks are sedentary in nature and we need to encourage our children to move more. It is time to act now. Can you choose more active transport to get to/from school?  The report card can be found by visiting http://www.activehealthykidsaustralia.com.au/ and then click on the 2015 Progress Report Card.

A really useful guide about physical activity recommendations is Make your Move- Sit Less- Be active for Life!- A resource for families. This is a document which can be found by visiting  http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/publishing.nsf/content/health-pubhlth-strateg-phys-act-guidelines.
