Shane is a graduate of the Masters of Physiotherapy (GE) program from the University of South Australia. In 2003 Shane completed a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Exercise and Sports Science. He then completed an Honours Degree and his research is published in peer reviewed journals.
Shane has also been a tutor at the University of South Australia in the areas of Physiology, Training and Performance, Exercise Physiology, Sport and Skill Analysis and Postural Analysis and has a particular passion for combining his knowledge of injury rehabilitation and sports performance. He has worked one on one with International level hockey, tennis and basketball players, as well as National level beach volleyball players in the areas of movement biomechanics and strength and conditioning.
Shane co-created MyPhysio App, a smart phone and tablet application that improves the way Physiotherapists communicate and prescribe exercises to their patients.
Shane was also a panellist speaking at the Research Institute of Australia giving expert insight into pain science and its relationship to the psychology of cycling during the 2012 Tour Down Under. He is also a very keen cyclist himself and has completed the gruelling 3 peaks challenge, climbing 5334 vertical metres in 235km of cycling and regularly competes in road, mountain bike and adventure races.
Shane has a strong passion for musculo-skeletal physiotherapy and enjoys helping individuals reach their goals. Shane’s treatment approach is focussed on a combination of hands on physiotherapy techniques, dry needling and corrective exercises.
