This helps to assist us in our understanding of their various professions and develop a greater understanding of their roles in management of certain conditions.
Dr Oscar Brumby-Rendall is an orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in the diagnosis, treatment and surgery of the shoulder and upper limb. He recently visited Smart to discuss the assessment of shoulder instability, rotator cuff tears and the type of repairs he performs. This was especially beneficial for us as clinicians to reinforce our understanding of when to refer for an orthopaedic consult.
Also, not for the squeamish, he presented a power point selection of the surgeries he has performed, highlighting some of the traumatic injuries he has had to deal with. Very fascinating.
